This tour starts and ends in Arusha, guaranteeing an unforgettable adventure in Tanzania's wilderness.
Day 1: Tarangire National Park Game Drive Experience.
Your driver will pick you up from Arusha, and then you will head to Tarangire National Park for a safari game drive. The hilly savannah, together with the Tarangire River, makes this the favourite park for large herds of elephants. During the dry season (June to October), the Tarangire River is the only water source available, making it a popular spot not just for the elephants but also for a variety of small hoofed animals and an abundance of birdlife. Lions, warthogs, giraffes, zebra and monkeys roam the park, waiting for the ‘perfect picture’ opportunity! The night is spent at Africa Safari Rift Valley.
Day 2: Discover the Relaxed Lions at Lake Manyara National Park.
Enjoy a safari game drive at Lake Manyara National Park from south to north. It is an underestimated gem as far as game parks are concerned, as it offers an extensive ecological variety in a more condensed area. From the park's entrance, the road winds through a groundwater forest area where baboons can be seen lounging in the trees and hanging out on the roadside. The famous tree-climbing lions inhabit the mahogany and acacia trees, and if you are lucky, you might spot them lazing on a tree branch. As you make your way out of the dense bushland onto the open grassy banks of the lake, you will see wildebeest, giraffe, zebra and large buffalo in abundance, grazing away. Between all this beauty, you have a lunch break at midday, and at the end of the afternoon, you drive to Africa Safari Lake Manyara for dinner and a peaceful sleep with sweet dreams.
Day 3: Witness Flamingos and Volcanoes at Lake Natron.
This day brings you a road trip through northern Tanzania with the destination of Lake Natron. You depart from Africa Safari Lake Manyara after breakfast on a 4-hour drive, the perfect way to see different sides of Tanzania’s ever-changing landscapes. As you pass the Rift Valley and drive further towards Lake Natron, you will notice the lush green vegetation slowly exchanging for dry, arid and dusty landscapes. The occasional Masai villages passed en route become dots in the distant scenery. Once you reach your destination, put on your walking shoes as a Masai tribesman guides you on a walk around the shores of Lake Natron in search of the lesser flamingos. Lake Natron is the most important and regular breeding site for lesser flamingos in East Africa, and during the breeding season, Lake Natron hosts up to 2.5 million flamingos!
Day 4: Explore the Pololeti Game Reserve.
On this day, you will enjoy a safari transfer drive from Lake Natron to our Africa Safari Maasai Boma accommodation, where you will spend the night. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed with lunch. Afterwards, you will enjoy a safari game drive in the Pololeti Game Reserve, an area known for its Masai culture, spectacular natural beauty and an enormous variety of wildlife. A hidden gem!
Day 5: Witness the Great Migration in the renowned Serengeti National Park.
The following days are filled with full-day game drives in Serengeti, aiming to get as many impressions of the wildebeest migration as possible.
Depending on the time of year, an extra/variable night will be spent at Africa Safari Maasai Boma (August to October) or Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma (May to July).

Day 7: Serengeti National Park on of your journey.
After an early breakfast, depart towards the most famous national park in the World, the Serengeti. The driving itself, although long, is spectacular. This will be an unforgettable moment for anyone seeing it for the first time. As you progress well into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means, in local language, "endless plains". The park has 6,900 sq miles (18,000 sq km) and for most of it, the plains will stretch to the horizon defying your senses and perception of distances. It is the home to the great migration of 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras and all kinds of antelopes. As for the big cats and large predators, it's the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, with many television scenes like the famous River Crossings having been filmed in this park.
There is a possibility to downgrade or upgrade your accommodation level.
Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater - A Natural Wonderland.
Depart early in the morning for your descent into the famous Ngorongoro Crater. As soon as you arrive in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will be amazed by the beauty around you. Even more so when you arrive at the edge of the crater and take in the fantastic view over one of the natural wonders of this world. The crater of this inactive volcano is approximately 3 million years old, 20km² in size and the largest unbroken volcanic caldera in the world. Due to its natural borders, the wildlife in the crater is amazing. The crater is home to the Big Five and offers an excellent chance to spot the rare black rhino. Throw hyenas, zebras, buffalos and elephants into the mix, and you have the perfect canvas for a pretty awesome safari experience! At the end of the afternoon, you will head to our Africa Safari Karatu accommodation for a well-deserved night’s sleep.
